Interpretation

An interpreter on the line, or in the room

Phone when the call can't wait. Video when you need to see each other. On-site when being in the room matters. Conference teams for multilingual events. All four draw on the same network of more than 650 professional linguists.

Four modalities

Match the modality to the moment

A discharge call, a deposition and a shareholder briefing each ask something different of the interpreter, and of the connection between you.

Over-the-phone · OPI

An interpreter on the line in seconds

Call in and a professional interpreter joins the conversation, with no scheduling, apps or equipment. It is the fastest option for short, urgent conversations where speed matters more than seeing each other.

  • On-demand access around the clock
  • Fast connection through our routing platform
  • Trained for healthcare, legal and emergency contexts

Best for: Front-desk check-ins, triage lines, claims calls and after-hours needs.

Video remote · VRI

Face-to-face clarity, from anywhere

A video session for conversations where expression, gesture or a shared document carries part of the meaning. It is the remote option for sign language and often the better choice for exams and depositions.

  • Clear video for spoken and sign language
  • Works on desktop and the platforms you already use
  • Easy to move from a phone call when documents come out

Best for: Telehealth and clinical exams, sign language, remote depositions.

In the room when presence matters

A vetted interpreter comes to your courtroom, clinic, school or office. Nothing replaces being physically present for sensitive conversations, or for a full day of back-to-back meetings.

  • Professional, punctual linguists
  • Scheduled and short-notice bookings
  • Matched by subject as well as language

Best for: Court appearances, hospital admissions, IEP meetings and site visits.

Every voice in the room, in every language

Interpreters work simultaneously, with listeners following on headsets, or consecutively alongside the speaker in alternating turns. We plan the team around your agenda, your audience and your languages.

  • Simultaneous and consecutive interpretation
  • Interpreter teams sized for the length of the event
  • Briefing on speakers and terminology ahead of time

Best for: Summits, board meetings, town halls and multilingual trainings.

What to expect

How a session works

If you have never worked through an interpreter, the mechanics are simpler than they sound. Four things to know before your first session.

01

Tell us the setting

Language, modality and context. A pediatric visit calls for a different interpreter than a patent hearing, and a short brief helps the interpreter arrive ready.

02

The interpreter sets the ground rules

Every session opens with a brief introduction: everything said is interpreted in the first person, and the interpreter stays neutral throughout.

03

Speak to each other

Address the other person directly, in complete thoughts. In consecutive mode, pause every sentence or two so each segment is rendered fully.

04

Switch modes as needed

A phone call can move to video when documents come out, or become a scheduled on-site follow-up. The standards stay the same across all four.

Where we work

Interpreters who know the setting

We match each request on language, specialty and setting, because a good rendering of “informed consent” takes more than fluency.

Interpretation in the languages we're asked for most

Pick a language for dialects, regions and the settings we cover. Not listed? Ask us: our network covers more than 300 languages, including rare and hard-to-source ones.

Tell us about the conversation

The language, the setting and when it's happening. That's all we need to match an interpreter and reply with availability.
